Reaching The Sky
Orchestral Album (Personal Project)

My first ever album Reaching The Sky has a very sad story behind it.
It all started when my dogs Titán and Bono passed away. I was devastated because they died two weeks apart. I was experimenting with orchestral sounds at the time and had this idea to make a song dedicated to their memory. And so I made the First Movement about hoping they're okay wherever they are and the Second Movement about Bono's life story: from him wandering the streets to his adoption to his death. That was the very first time I used music as a way of catharsis.
​I never planned on doing a Third Movement, but then we adopted a kitten and named her Delta. My family never had cats, we were dog people... but Delta changed everything. She was so beautiful, loving and playful we deeply fell in love with her. But one day, she went wandering (as a normal cat does) and, three days later, we found her dead on our front yard.

I took care of her in the mornings while I was doing online classes and she loved to sleep in my bed, so I developed a really strong love for her. So you can imagine how crushed and depressed I was after her passing. In that moment I knew I would do the Third Movement and dedicate it to her. However, I was so sad and hurt it almost took me a year to compose a song that portrays all that innocence, nostalgia
and how my grief turned into a deeper love.
With all the three movements of my songs complete, I thought it'd be a cool idea to put them into an album, re-mastering old songs and compose new ones to tell a story about my journey through love, loss, fear, nostalgia, catharsis and acceptance.
Finally, and having an 8-track run with a 27 minutes duration, Reaching The Sky was released on December 9th, 2022.
